I started and finished this book the day that I finished The Selection.

I feel like this has ‘second book disorder’. I liked it, but I preferred the first book, and I think the third book will be much better. So going into it, just expect that.

For the first time, something non-death related made me tear up. I can’t tell you what it was, because that’s a huge spoiler, but it was heart breaking. Even though I was satisfied by the end of the book, it was so painful – I honestly don’t know how Kiera Cass did that.

The middle was very back-and-forth and back-and-forth, but I enjoyed it anyway. It’s something I can look over.

There’s a lot more I want to say, but this is a sequel, so I can’t spoil anything! Totally going to buy this book – I highly suggest this series\ author.

Kiera Cass is the #1 bestselling author of The Selection series. Her first book – The Siren – was self-published in 2009, before being re-published in 2016.
